This fall the CHIP Summit was in Loma Linda. An additional good excuse to get down there to see the grandkids. They just keep growing. We have much to be thankful for.

It was a windy afternoon at Shore Acres, a park on the Cape Arago coast of Southern Oregon. Lots of spectacular waves breaking. Cloudy, but fortunately not raining. Beautiful!
We are a family of wanderers on the globe. From the 1920's when my grandparents set out for India (where my father was born and raised), to the 1950's when my parents sailed to Pakistan (where I was born), and later moved to Ethiopia (where I grew up), to the 1990's when we made our home in Nigeria (and our kids found themselves growing up in another culture), to the wanderings of the next generation, we seem to be addicted to travel and intercultural relationships. The driving force behind that has been a desire for spiritual relevance -- the mission to share the compassionate love of God to those who may need physical and/or spiritual healing. Hoping that God can use us wherever we are, but recognizing that our experiences have perhaps made us more suitable than others for international interaction. We have tended to lean towards health care professions (medicine, surgery, nutrition, public health) with an interest in education and development. Family concerns brought us back to the U.S. for a while, but the pull to be part of the international scene persists.
